SC Band Parent Letter to Graduating Families:
Dear Graduating Student and their Families:
The Swift Current Band Parent Auxiliary would like to take this opportunity to wish you a successful last year of band. We greatly appreciate all your support over the past years, and look forward to one last great year!
This letter is to inform you about the music miles program during the grade 12 year. If you have younger children in the band program using music miles, then any music miles you earn this year will remain with your family.
If your family will be finished using the music mile program this year, this is what your family needs to know. The music mile calculations are done twice a year – once in December and once in mid-late spring. The music miles collected after the first calculation date to the second date will not be able to be applied to your trips. This is because your trip fees are due prior to the calculation being released (late spring). There is not a refund or reimbursement for any music miles earned that are not used by the end of your school year.
So, in saying that – we still strongly encourage grade 12 students and their families to stay involved in the volunteer and fundraising efforts of the SCBPA. We do want to make sure you are informed of the activities that will not be able to be used in your final year of the program: Gift Wrap, January Bottle Drive, All that Jazz Night, and the Meats Fundraiser.
If you have any questions, please contact the music miles coordinator at scbands.musicmiles@gmail.com or the president at scband.president@gmail.com. Again, thank you for your support over the years. Best of luck in the future!
Sincerely,
Deb Steinley
SCBPA President

SC Band Parent Letter Regarding Payments:
Dear SCCHS Band Students,
The Swift Current Band Parent’s Auxiliary would like to make you aware of a slight change for the band trip cheque collection. Starting last fall, the SCCHS music department began using the school accounts to run the trip funds through instead of the SCBPA. This is how other extracurricular activities (like football and drama) run at the school.
So, this really only means that you will now write your trip payment cheques to SCCHS instead of the band parents auxiliary.
All fundraising and music miles remain the same. For the fundraisers, like buying Beef and Band Blast tickets or Fruit and Cookie Dough, the monies will go through SCBPA so that is who you make cheques out to. Music Mile statements will still be issued the same as last year, and you will still be able to use those miles to offset the trip costs. Please do not hesitate to ask your band director or Deb Steinley at scband.president@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Swift Current Band Parent’s Auxiliary
